I used to have one of these! Was my second phone. I remember looking up what notes to enter into the ringtone editor so it would play the first bit of the imperial march.. Then I got a Sony CMD-J70 which let you record ringtones of 10 second length through the mic, and had a fun monkey game.

I remember that my very first cellphone that I've used was a Kyocera phone from Alltel that I remember getting in summer of 2002. I remember that I actually managed to hunt down a proprietary cable to hook it up to my laptop to have portable dial up internet since data plans didn't exist in the day, at least for mainstream consumers. I think I used it until late 2005.

My first phone was a Siemens A70, so yeah nothing special. The phone you just use for SMS and well taking calls. Oh you could also play snake and tetris with it I think.

My second cell phone was the Motorola V200 Personal Communicator. Pretty much an update to this phone here. It did correct the audio issue - I could do speakerphone without a headset.

My first portable cellphone was a Motorola Microtak from 1990 I think. It was so expensive to use that I crinched everytime someone called. Yes, I had to pay a small fee when someone called me. And outgoing calls cost around $1,2 per minute plus the startfee which I cant remember. My very first phone was a Mitsubishi phone that was installed in my car. You could get a battery for it, which was almost as big as a car battery. The phone cost $2500 and the battery was around $1200 I think.

You may be able to modify the radio bands to the US 1900 band with a hex editor and the phone connected to a PC.. It's been a minute since I've done it on the old school Motorola's, but I used to do it with Europe and Japan only Motorola's all the time.. I'm not even sure if the support forums for those phones exist anymore lol

You seem like the kind of company that would have a few global to US power adapters handy for situations like this. Probably should do something about that.
